The real estate boards, together with BC’s real estate regulatory bodies, advised REALTORS® this week to stop holding open houses given the worsening COVID-19 situation in our province.

The Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver (REBGV), which represents nearly 14,000 Realtors across the region, supports this position.

With new COVID-19 cases setting records in BC of late, Realtors are committed to limiting in-person interactions as much as possible.

To help you meet your housing needs during this pandemic, you can expect your Realtor to optimize technology-based solutions to showcase homes, assess neighbourhood amenities, and complete paperwork. Where in-person meetings are necessary, your Realtor may ask you to meet outdoors or in a location with a detailed COVID-19 safety plan.

“Realtors are committed to acting in the best interest of the public. As a profession, we’re consulting with the health experts in our province and doing everything we can to operate in a safe and responsible manner through this health crisis,” Gerber said.
