Since 2011, Richmond REALTORS®  have taken part in an annual fundraising campaign, with proceeds supporting the Richmond Christmas Fund, a program that assists low-income families during the holiday season.

This year, thanks to an outpouring of generosity from 81 Realtors, the campaign set a new record, raising $16,000, which brings the seven-year total to a remarkable $69,000.

"Richmond Realtors are responsible for the most successful and longest-running Christmas Fund campaign," said Ed Gavsie, president and CEO of Richmond Cares, Richmond Gives (RCRG), the charity that runs the program.

"Over the past seven years, their contributions have helped brighten the holidays for thousands of our neighbours in need, " said Gavsie. "We're beyond grateful for the support."

in 2017, five real estate firms participated in the campaign, with the majority of donors coming from RE/MAX Westcoast, Macdonald Realty Westmar, and Sutton Group-Seafair Realty.

"This is a cause we all believe in," said Patti Martin, who founded the campaign. "The holiday season is a special time of year, and everyone deserves to celebrate. We're proud to do our part to make that possible."

The 2017 Christmas Fund will run through December 16, distributing grocery vouchers, toys, books, and gift cards to families in need.
