The wildfire that consumed Fort McMurray had a devastating effect on the people who lived and worked there. Neighbourhoods were burned to the ground, and all 80,000 residents were evacuated. Recovering from this disaster will take years.

Meanwhile, the people of Fort McMurray needed immediate assistance. Through its REALTORS Care®  program, members of the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver donated $10,000 to the Canadian Red Cross’ Alberta Fires Appeal.

Through the Canadian REALTORS Care® Foundation, REALTORS® across the country donated funds, clothing, shelter and other necessities to help with the recovery. To date, donations from REALTORS® across Canada have reached $400,000! Our friends to the south with the National Association of Realtors (NAR) also pledged a whopping $250,000!
