2013 REALTORS Care® Award
2013 Recipients
Two REALTORS® have been recognised for the breadth and depth of their contributions to helping others and caring of animals.
Brad Leslie and Laura-Leah Shaw were recipients of the REALTORS Care® Award at the President’s Recognition Dinner, March 21, hosted by the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver (REBGV).

Brad Leslie
RE/MAX Real Estate Services
In the early 1990s, Brad and several friends developed the Young Men’s Adventure Weekend, a program to help young men growing up without strong male role models in their lives.
Since then, Brad has remained closely involved with the program as an event coordinator, advisor and mentor. An offshoot of this initiative is the Young Men’s Ultimate Weekend, California for which Brad acted as the event consultant and ongoing mentor. He speaks with groups wishing to produce similar events, and with parents who need advice.
Last year, Brad helped fundraise for the Children’s Miracle Network by playing piano in the RE/MAX Rocking All Stars Band.

Laura-Leah Shaw
RE/MAX Crest Realty Westside
Nearly every day you can find Laura-Leah helping others, from the political to the personal.
Highlights from 2013 include acting as financial agent for a provincial candidate, negotiating a gradual rather than total reduction in habitat for wildlife at Jericho Park to protect nesting birds and abandoned rabbits, and raising awareness on the responsible care of animals at community events and schools.
Weekly, Laura-Leah collects boxes of food from Choices Market for the Downtown Eastside, and through her clients she directs furniture donations to several supportive housing initiatives for distribution to those in need. She is a long-time volunteer of the REALTORS Care® Blanket Drive where she coordinates, picks-up, sorts, and delivers donations.
