REALTOR® Eileen Smith receives real estate’s highest honour

Eileen Smith is this year’s recipient of the 2013 Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver’s (REBGV) Professional Excellence Award, one of the highest honours within the real estate profession.

Smith became a REALTOR® in 1966. In that time, she founded two real estate offices on the North Shore and developed a reputation for integrity, honesty and professionalism.

“When Eileen became a REALTOR® there were very few women in the business and you could say she was a pioneer,” said Sandra Wyant, REBGV president, 2013-14. “She instilled strong ethical and professional values in the real estate offices she founded and became known as a mentor and leader to many.”

Smith’s commitment to professionalism is evident through her involvement with several professional bodies. She served as Chair of the Errors and Omissions Insurance Corp. and volunteered as a director of the Real Estate Council of BC, the Real Estate Foundation and the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver.

The Professional Excellence Award is presented to a REALTOR® who embodies the highest level of professional knowledge, ethics, peer and client relationships, and community involvement. Smith was nominated by her peers and chosen by a distinguished panel of judges from the real estate profession.
